20 Degrees Sud
is located on the island of Mauritius
Mauritius is a substantial tropical island set in a very remote part of the Indian Ocean to the east of Madagascar, very far removed from the safari areas of Africa, but sometimes visited in combination by people in search of large resorts with lots of facilities, notably including some major golf courses.
Set overlooking Grand Baie to the north of the island, 20 Degrees Sud is an unusually small, intimate and relatively upmarket resort.
The hotel is in a pleasant colonial stule and has two restaurants, bar, pool, spa and watersports centre.
Guest accommodation is in 34 rooms in various specifications.
Activities include tennis, diving, snorkelling, kayaking, sailing and golf.
The main potential downsides at 20 Degrees Sud are the busy Grand Baie location, the tight plot, the modest beach and the potential for adverse weather Jan/Mar.
