Safari in Botswana is generally very high quality and very high price, with a very pure and comfortable safari experience being created by flying around usually two to five safari lodges, mainly if not all located in the fabulous private concession areas of
Okavango and
Linyanti.
The small proportion of decent game areas which are outside the private concessions are so overrun with self-drive and overland traffic that decent mid-price safari in Botswana is all but impossible. Our usual advice is that if you want to spend less than top dollar then either visit the good camps in low season or look to
Zambia or
Tanzania instead.
