The Chobe Northern Waterfront is a legendary safari area, where the elephant gather in enormous numbers during the dry season ... June to November. It is also the place where famously one can witness from a boat the spectacle of families of elephant swimming the river.
But in recent decades this wonderful area has become a little soiled, with an overdose of safari traffic spilling into the park from the town of Kasane to the east.
Two camps manage to largely overcome this traffic issue by being located on the opposite western end of the waterfront, the high specification
Chobe under Canvas and the slightly cheaper
Muchenje Lodge in the adjacent Chobe Forest Reserve.
