The Selinda Spillway is a connecting channel between the Linyanti and Okavango swamps, a major game migration route.
In recent years however the channel has failed to flow in all but the very highest floods, leaving the area dependent upon a very short river frontage at its northern tip.
So whilst game-viewing in the concession can still be excellent, the lack of water makes it generally less reliable than in the adjacent areas.
That said, if the better camps in the Kwando and East Linyanti areas are fully booked, then it is probably better to visit Selinda rather than miss the region altogether.
