The Khwai River concession is located between Moremi to the south, Linyanti to the north and Chobe to the east.
At its southern end it has a good length of river frontage, with a pretty reliable flood usually July to October. The remainder of the area is largely dry mopane scrub and forest of marginal game-viewing interest outside of the wet season November to April. The eastern river frontage contains the main transit road through the area, with the large North Gate Campsite being just over the bridge to the south. There is also a large area of rather messy settlement in this area, as well as a large unattractive lodge.
The remainder of the Khwai area does have some potential, but to date remains devoid of safari decent safari operators.
