Mankwe Lodge is located to the northeast of the Okavango in northern Botswana.
Although apparently in a rather marginal area close to the main overland route, this is actually a rather pleasant backwater, with its own private game areas, relatively little impacted by the passing traffic. The lodge itself is pleasantly simple, with a main decked area with pool and eight tented rooms.
Mankwe Lodge is certainly one of the best options in this lower price range. In combination with Gadikwe Camp, this makes for a smart way to raid the beautiful Mopane Tongue without getting too embroiled with the heavy safari traffic.
