Ranns is a private concession area to the southeast of the Okavango Delta.
The landscape is a mix of more heavily watered flood plains and islands to the northwest, more conventional dry savannah to the southeast, where the floodwaters rarely reach these days.
The flood arrives late here and May and June camps in this area need to be combined with an area further west such as Jao or Abu. July to October this area should be able to provide the full range of Okavango experience. November to April is low season, but game-viewing should remain pretty solid throughout.
The two camps are both very high end, Xaranna being tented, Xudum having more permanent structures.
