Aberdares

The Aberdares is a mountain range which stretches for 100km northwards from Nairobi. The park essentially covers two different ecosystems ...

The high altitude section includes rugged peaks and moorland, flanked by steep forested slopes offers some interesting but largely peripheral trekking options.

The lower altitude protrusion to the east known as the Salient is largely dense rainforest, where game-viewing is extraordinarily difficult, making the chance of encountering rare species such as the bongo, black serval and black leopard very unlikely.

For accommodation there is not much to recommend, The Ark and Treetops both proving to be quite a disappointment.
