Il Ngwesi Bivouac is the usual second night stop on a three night camel trek from Lewa Downs to Tassia Lodge.
These camel trails are usually led personally by bush legend Charlie Wheeler, along with his superb team of Samburu warriors and supported by a train of camels. Heat and altitude make for tough going, so distances are kept low in order to both keep it enjoyable and to allow time for game-tracking and general exploratory diversions.
This leg leads from the preceding Morani Bivouac or Lewa Safari Camp along a riverbed and through some superb mountainous terrain. Next stop Lekurruki Bivouac.
