Sasaab Camp is located on a Samburu group ranch around 10km outside the west gate of Samburu game reserve in northcentral Kenya.
This is a very high quality camp, with elegant public areas, a beautiful pool and sumptuous rooms with private spa baths. Not quite sure about the integrity of the Arabic architecture, but no doubting the quality.
Being so far out of the park does guarantee privacy, but with little game in the immediate vicinity it does mean driving back and forth to the gate for gameviewing. Walking, camel safari and cultural interaction though can all be enjoyed in the more peaceful areas around the lodge itself.
