Northern Laikipia is rather more wild and exciting than further south. Here the ranch fences and cattle have been largely removed, permitting wildlife to flourish and return to ancient migration patterns.
Almost all the lodges are centred along the Ewaso Ngiro river, which acts as the main game corridor. Visitors traditionally tend to fly into one lodge for just a few nights, but the area is much better visited by staying in two or more locations and journeying along the river by vehicle, foot, horse or camel. Being the furthest south, Sosian is probably the best starting point.
Separate from this river system is Ol Lentille, which functions as an extremely high quality mountain retreat rather than any kind of intense game experience.
