At 5200m, Mount Kenya is the second highest mountain in Africa, some 700m lower than Kilimanjaro. But where Kilimanjaro offers a non-technical trek to the summit, only serious climbers can attempt the top of this mountain, trekkers having to make do with a much lower subsidiary summit.

Around 1980 the number of climbers on these mountains was roughly equal. These days the shift towards Kilimanjaro has been so pronounced that there is no longer sufficient custom to warrant the existence of quality climb operations here, despite the fact that this mountain offers a considerably more varied mountain experience.

Despite being the leading trek provider on Kilimanjaro our demand for Mount Kenya is so low that we have had to stop offering it.
