The central section of the Kenyan coast is a bit of a mixed bag these days, having seen its fair share of mass market development.
The North Mombasa coast is dominated by a large number of mass market packaged holiday resorts.
Malindi too is quite heavily developed and definitely past its best.
The areas of Kilifi and Watamu are traditionally quieter and more secluded, although these too are becoming noticeably more busy and downmarket as the years slide by.
The only option we tend to use with any regularity in this area is Che Shale in the extreme north.
