Southeast Kenya contains some of the best known and most visited safari parks in East Africa.
It is Amboseli which provides that architypal image of safari ... of elephant and giraffe ranging across broad open savannah against a backdrop of the snows of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Tsavo East and Tsavo West are also largely comprised of vast open plains set against a similar backdrop, only here the plains are broader, redder and more arid, Kilimanjaro more distant.
In between these two huge safari areas lie the Chyulu Hills, a much less visited upland area of great beauty.
