Kibo Safari Camp is located just outside the Amboseli reserve in southeast Kenya.
This relatively simple camp has modest public areas, swimming pool and an incredible 61 simple guest tents under thatched roofs. Designed to service budget minibus tours, the camp is surprisingly rustic in tone given its rather middle market audience.
The major downside here is the density of safari traffic in this area, with several lodges outside the reserve and four huge lodges on the inside spilling literally hundreds of vehicles across a relatively small area of very flat and open terrain. Not a pretty sight in high season.
