Tortilis Camp is located just outside the southern border of the Amboseli reserve in southeast Kenya.
This lodge is without doubt the best place to stay in the immediate Amboseli area. That said, with 18 rooms, it is on the large side for a genuinely high quality camp and a little bit mainstream in some of the detailing.
Tortilis is certainly advantaged by its location, having its own private conservancy to the south. This enables guests to raid the high traffic areas inside the reserve during quieter hours and then retreat back to camp for a more peaceful wilderness experience.
