Lake Naivasha Country Club is located on the southeast shore of Lake Naivasha in the Rift Valley of southwest Kenya.
During the 1920's this old colonial hotel served as the 'airport' for the flying boat service between London and South Africa and was a hub of Happy Valley social activity.
These days the place is part of a large hotel chain and has certainly lost a great deal of its appeal, although remains a modestly interesting place to visit.
Of course it is the industrialisation of this part of the lakeshore which is the biggest deterent these days.
