The Bazaruto Archipelago is a group of islands, two of good size, just off the coast of southern Mozambique. This is classic tropical island stuff, with white sand beaches, turquoise seas and wonderful marine life.
The smaller Benguerra Island is home to three relatively small, decent quality lodges, Benguerra Lodge, Azura Beach Lodge and Marlin Lodge.
For a slightly lower cost option Dugong Beach Lodge is located in the marine park over on the mainland coast.
The larger Bazaruto Island contains two quite large and mainstream facilities, Bazaruto Resort and Indigo Bay Resort, neither of which are really our cup of tea.
