Ibo Island is a fascinating island with a historic mainly ruined town, off the Cabo Delgado coast in the north of Mozambique.
The lodge here is very much a town style small hotel rather than a beach lodge, built and serviced to very high standards.
An excellent base from which to explore this historic island. Works well in combination with either of the high end private islands of
Vamizi or
Quilalea, or with the lower cost
Guludo Lodge on the mainland coast.
Getting here is the problem, the twice weekly flight from Johannesburg being the only sensible option.
