The town of Katima Mulilo is located on the south bank of the Zambezi river and serves as the capital of this eastern Caprivi area.
The place is in a commanding location and has a very pleasant central square dotted with trees.
The bridge here is one of only six along the whole of the Zambezi river.
There is a good range of shops and services in the town, making it a major stopping point for traffic passing through the strip.
Our trips rarely include vehicle transits through the Caprivi and it would be even more rare for us to include an overnight stop here in Katima.
