Located about 3km from Katima Mulilo on the banks of the river, Hippo Lodge is a locally owned facility which does show some considerable design flair.
Twenty three rooms are arranged amongst a very verdant garden and there is a bar and restaurant area jutting out over the river.
Overall the place is a bit too rough and ready to attract a decent number of international visitors.
