Popa Falls

Just south of the road bridge over the Kavango River at the knee of the Caprivi Strip is the Popa Falls which, as you can see, are not all that much to write home about.

There is not much here apart from a small government restcamp and a petrol pump.

Scattered downstream from the falls are several simple lodges and campgrounds, leading to the modest Mahangu National Park.

Generally used as a lower cost overnight stop for traffic passing along the Caprivi Strip and therefore of little interest to us as we rarely overland on this rather dull route.
