For the most part, this northcentral area is comprised of large tracts of undulating ranch land, pleasant enough, but not of any particular interest to the visitor.
The main features of potential interest are the
Etosha and
Waterberg national parks, although to our mind neither really live up to their billing.
On the other hand, the
Okonjima and
CCF animal rescue projects in the Otjiwarongo area are surprisingly interesting.
Shorter and easier self-drive trips tend to spend a fair amount of time in this area, whilst the more adventurous tend to skip through here pretty fast on the way to the remote
Northwest.
