Passing west from the undulating farmland that covers most of this region, approaching Damaraland the landscape starts to get more interesting, with ridges of granitic hills.
The main feature in this immediate area is the broad erosion landscapes of the Huab river valley, with its distinctive rocky outcrops, the most notable of which is the Vingerklip itself.
Although a pleasant enough location, with some good walking and decent rock art sites, there is not really enough here to make it a viable alternative to the similar but frankly more interesting
Twyfelfontein area.
The only accommodation of note in the area is the quite reasonable
Vingerklip Lodge.
