Epupa is located in the extreme northwest of Namibia, where the Kunene river passes over a minor geological fault to create some modest waterfalls.
This the farthest point on the self-drive route from
Palmwag and
Sesfontein.
We do not recommend this route because it delivers relatively little for the huge distances involved ... a trip to Epupa does not constitute a proper visit to this remote Kaokaland region, for that you need to either go on a guided safari or fly into the remote
Serra Cafema Camp.
Both proper options are very pricey, so if you are on a budget, probably better to stick to more reachable and rewarding targets further south.
