Located just below the western side of Etosha, the town of Kamanjab marks the frontier between the farmlands of the central regions and the wild landscapes of Damaraland.
The town itself is a small farming community, whose corner store and gas station are the main points of interest to most visitors.
The lodges in the area, although decent enough in their own right, all struggle to find their way into a self-drive trip, except when all south Etosha camps are full.
Hobatere Lodge is a small private game reserve,
Huab Lodge is a relaxation spa with hot springs, whilst
Kavita Lion Lodge is a semi-operational lion rehabilitation project.
