This is the real Skeleton Coast, the truly wild area, the place where the great shipwreck adventures took place, the place where they make the documentaries ... the place that you need to get to if you possibly can.

The whole area is one enormous private concession containing just two small camps, which can be accessed only by light aircraft on the Wednesdays and Saturdays, so stay duration is 3 or 4 nights.

Both camps attract our maximum rating. The famous one, Skeleton Coast Camp, is the more well established and comfortable. Skeleton Coast Research is a much more basic facility designed for guests who are prepared to rough it a little in order to gain access to this fabulous area at a considerably lower, but still very high, price.
