Serra Cafema is an utterly outstanding location. Here on the remote border between Namibia and Angola the desert is cut by the Kunene river. The valley runs a green strand, with plunging dune fields to the south and rugged bare-rock mountains to the north. It is overwhelmingly beautiful.
Although we do occasionally run overland safaris this far north, the area is more sensibly accessed by light aircraft, flying in to the superb camp.
This makes it a very expensive place to get to, but one which we all agree is one of the most outrageous places on the planet.
The fabulous
Serra Cafema Camp is the place to stay.
