Vogelstrausskluft is located to the northwest of the Fish River Canyon in southern Namibia.
This place does not provide easy access to the main viewpoints and walking trailheads, but instead hits the canyon from the little visited north side. Accommodation is in 20 comfortable rooms in 5 blocks, with restaurant, bar, library and pool housed in a separate main building.
Vogelstrausskluft is a decent lodge. The guided drives and hikes in and around the canyon are excellent. Better still is the overnight bivouac trip, which is as close as you can get to the real canyon experience without having to do the whole five day trek.
