Desert Camp is located 5km east of the main gate into Sossusvlei in southwest Namibia.
This very pleasant modern lodge is aimed primarly at South African self-drivers, with 24 self-catering rooms each with vehicle access and braai areas. Public areas include a pub and pool, but no restaurant. Meals can be taken at the nearby Sossuvlei Lodge, but we usually avoid that by booking a chef to bring dinner and breakfast to your room.
Desert Camp is a little too close to the main action areas and would be much better if it had its own restaurant, but otherwise makes a decent alternative when Desert Homestead is fully booked.
