Zebra River Lodge deep inside a hidden valley some 90km from the entrance to Sossusvlei in southwest Namibia.
This owner-run guesthouse is a simple and homely affair. The remote location makes for a nice base for walking and paleontologists will be as impressed as we were by the array of stone tools in the area.
The problem is that Zebra River is just too far away to act as a sensible base from which to visit the dunes at Sossusvlei, or to go ballooning and quad-biking. We therefore use it only rarely, usually due to a lack of availability at
Desert Homestead.
