This western part of the country contains little of sufficient interest to feature strongly in any flying safaris.
For those on self-drive trips the area is inherently of more importance since almost all will need to pass this way when connecting north and south.
The usual south to north route is via the coast, via
Swakopmund and
Cape Cross, before heading inland to
Twyfelfontein.
But those for whom the allure of this part of this coast remains elusive can take an alternative inland route via
Erongo to
Twyfelfontein, hitting the coast further north at either the
Skeleton Coast Park or if budget permits the wonderful
Skeleton Coast North.
