Branderg is a huge granite massif which stands clear of a broad plateau, 30km in diameter and over 2500m high.
The area was once a centre of Bushman activity and there are some high quality rock art sites, some within easy walking distance of the visitor centre on the eastern side. Avid rock art enthusiasts might stop here for a couple of hours on the way through, although there is more than enough rock art for most people up at Twyfelfontein.
There are some interesting multiple day hiking trails on the Brandberg, which we sometimes include as guided segments, usually as part of a longer self-drive trip.
