Terrace Bay Restcamp is located at the northern extreme of the Skeleton Coast National Park in west Namibia.
This ugly government restcamp is the only accommodation in the park, so if you want to visit you are obliged to endure a night here. Imagine an industrial portacabin village, add a howling onshore wind, a thick blanket of fog and some truly terrible food and you are starting to get the picture.
Nevertheless we rate Terrace Bay highly, mainly due to the access it provides to this interesting stretch of coast, but also because a night here can be quite a comedy experience.
