Rwanda is a highly populous and extremely scenic mountainous little country. Unfortunately best known for the genocide, the country has largely moved on and the shadow cast is no longer so totally black.
The main reason ... some say the only reason ... to safari in Rwanda is to visit the mountain gorillas. For most people this means flying in and out of the capital Kigali and heading up to the Ruhengeri district for two or three nights. It is an expensive but fab experience.
The rest of the country is interesting without being sensational, most of our guests prefer to combine the gorillas with safari in Northern Tanzania.
