North Island is located 40km to the northeast of Mahe in the Seychelles.
This fabulously beautiful island comprises a range of granite hills cloaked in palm trees and surrounded by three superb beaches and vivid coral lagoons.
Since taking the island on in 2007, the new owners have undertaken a complete top to bottom rehabilitation, restoring the flora and fauna to pre-human intervention, meaning the removal of all exotic plant species and the eradication of rats and rabbits, which rare endemics have been introduced from elsewhere in the Seychelles. A truly exemplary project.
This work is funded by revenues from the utterly fabulous
North Island Lodge.
