This large hotel on the front at Dar es Salaam was originally constructed in the 1970's and until recently was in a very poor state of repair.
Refurbished in 2006 by the Kempinski chain of hotels, the Kilimanjaro is now a rather chic and upmarket place.
Since most of our guests are only overnighting here out of necessity, we tend to use the Dar Holiday Inn, which is considerably lower cost. We always prefer to deploy funds to where they count most, which is generally out in the bush or on the beach.
