Mafia Island Lodge is located close to the main village alongside Chole Bay on the island of Mafia off the coast of mainland Tanzania.
Originally a government owned facility, the place has recently been refurbished and now offers reasonably decent low cost accommodation to a largely Italian audience.
Whilst we are not enormous fans of Mafia Island Lodge, it is the only sensible lower cost option on Mafia and we therefore find ourselves including it in trips quite often.
