Shamba Kilole Lodge is located alongside Chole Bay on the island of Mafia off the coast of mainland Tanzania.
Opened in August 2009, this small and intimate lodge is owned by Italian couple Marco and Francesca, who have been working here as dive instructors since around 2002. There are just six rooms, three suite and 3 smaller chalets. Central areas are intimate and pleasant, there is a rather nice pool and Marco's cooking is a real highlight.
Whilst our more outdoorsy guests to Mafia tend to head for the superb Chole Mjini, Shamba Kilole may prove to be an alternative worthy of consideration.
