The Old Boma is located in Mikindani, an old slaving port on the southern coast of Tanzania.
This former colonial government building was refurbished in 1998 and has been run as a hotel ever since by a UK based charity. Whilst being both stylish and comfortable, The Old Boma is also rather eccentric.
We tend to recommend The Old Boma to experienced travellers who enjoy getting off the beaten track and do not need everything to necessarily run like clockwork. The right guests absolutely fall in love with the place, its quirkiness and its gentle considerate staff.
