Set down on the remote southwest coast of Zanzibar Island, Kizimkazi is an historic little fishing village of ancient Shirazi origins, which backs the beaches of two pleasant little bays.

These days the area is primarily know for 'swimming with dolphins' ... a rather nebulous and missable diversion which has become all the less likely to deliver as visitor numbers have increased.

There are two decent lodges in the area, the upmarket Unguja Lodge and the simpler, lower cost Karamba
