Karamba is located on the southwest coast of Zanzibar island in Tanzania.
This Spanish operated lodge offers reasonably high standards of food, accommodation and service at decent mid-range prices. The quiet village location offers great cultural interactions, although as a beach lodge it is rather lacking a pool, plans for which are in the pipeline.
We tend to recommend this lodge in combination with other good guesthouses such as Matemwe Beach or Pongwe Beach, making a great combination of the classic East Coast beaches and this lesser visited and rather less obvious Southwest corner.
