Nyota Beach is a pleasant little guesthouse on the beach at Matemwe in northeast Zanzibar, run by an Italian lady. It is simple, reasonably stylish and relatively low cost.
The downsides are that the location is rather closer in to the village than would be ideal, that service levels in a small place like this tend to be variable and that divers are reliant on getting space on boats from nearby Matemwe Beach, which is not always possible.
We tend to use Nyota during high season when Matemwe Beach is full and then only for guests who are prepared to go with the flow in this more simple facility.
