Ras Nungwi is Zanzibar's only decent small resort hotel, a hybrid between a genuine small lodge and a larger resort hotel.
The lodge attracts a relatively young age group, especially honeymooners. It has a wonderful beach and a very strong dive school.
Ras Nungwi may not quite have the same dreamy exclusivity of Matemwe Bungalows, nor does it have the breadth of facilities of Breezes Beach Club, but it does offer a genuinely decent compromise for people falling between those two stools.
