Z Hotel is located in Nungwi on the northern tip of the island of Zanzibar in Tanzania.
Situated in the busy area to the west of the village, this 35 room hotel attempts to offer a kind of urban chic, but in reality falls some way short. The plot is small and the buildings rather haphazard and unattractive. The 35 rooms are in three 4 storey blocks, with a double storey restaurant and bar on the point overlooking the ocean. There is also a large pool.
The upside here is that the beach is superb and not tidal, but the downsides of location and design gives the Z Hotel this relatively low rating.
