Zanzibar Serena is located in Stonetown on the island of Zanzibar in Tanzania.
Although the hotel was formed out of the conversion of a number of historic buildings, it is not one of great architectural interest, nor is it particularly high end, but it is by far the best hotel in town by conventional measures.
Where 236 Hurumzi offers an experience of total Stonetown immersion, Zanzibar Serena offers a blissful retreat from the hot and hectic streets.
