Changuu Island is located 4km offshore from Stonetown, the capital of Zanzibar Island.
This is an interesting little island, with a decent beach, historic prison buildings and some interesting tidal lagoons. The downside is the location, which is far too close to town and the busy shipping lanes to feel like a proper desert island.
The new lodge development here has 15 rooms and is claimed to be five star.
We have not yet visited the place, but given our misgivings with the location we are not terribly optimistic about ever wanting to recommend this to our guests.
