Kigongoni is set on in a semi-rural location on top of a small hilltop around 9km to the east of Arusha.
The lodge was constructed mainly to provide income for a nearby school for children with special needs, which guests can visit and make donations if so inclined.
Kigongoni is essentially a mimic of nearby Moivaro Lodge, with a slightly higher level of build, but perhaps not quite so intimate and personable. We tend to use it as back-up when the latter is full.
