Ngare Sero is it set in a superb rural location on the forested lower slopes of Mount Meru, about 20km east of Arusha.
The beautiful historic farmhouse is approached on a footbridge over a trout lake and set in lovely gardens.
As one of the most interesting and characterful small lodges in the area, one might expect us to use Ngare Sero rather more often than we do, but for most guests Arusha is more of a stopover than a destination and pleasant lower cost places such as Moivaro Lodge more often than not tend to fit the bill rather better.
