This trekking module must be preceded by a night at Empakai Bivouac.
From Empakai Crater it is a fabulous two day trek along the top of the Rift Escarpment, past the active volcano Lengai and down to the sodorous Lake Natron.
Acacia Campsite is nothing more than a patch of ground in a stand of acacia trees, where we bivouac for the night during this trek.
This is the real deal, camping out with Maasai in the wilds. If you think you can handle it then go for it ... this is utterly memorable.
